Vacation

Darla had applied for a job and when she returned home, her mother asked how the interview went. "Pretty good, I think," replied Darla, "but if I go to work there I won't get a vacation until I'm married." Her mother, of course, had never heard of such a thing. "Is that what they told you?" "No", replied Darla, "but right on the application it said 'vacation time may not be taken until you've had your First Anniversary.'"

Spring Fever
Four high school boys afflicted with spring fever skipped morning classes. After lunch they reported to the teacher that they had a flat tire. Much to their relief she smiled and said, "Well, you missed a test today so take seats apart from one another and take out a piece of paper." Still smiling, she waited for them to sit down. Then she said: "First Question: Which tire was flat?"

Heaviest object removed from a stomach

The heaviest object extracted from human stomach was a ball of hair weighing 5 lbs. 3 oz. From a 20-year-old female compulsive swallower in the UK on March 30, 1895.

Farthest distance traveled by a human voice
There is a recorded case under optimal acoustic conditions, of a Silbo speaker being heard at a distance of 10.5 miles across the water at night.

Highest blood sugar level
Two year old Alexa Painter survived the blood sugar level 20.7 times above average at 2,495 mg when she was admitted to the hospital in Virginia. The normal blood sugar ranges between 80 and 100 mg.

Most sets of teeth
Cases of a third set of teeth in late life have been recorded several times. A case in France of a forth set of teeth known as Lison’s case was published in 1896.
