Sports
Green Bay Packers 26, Chicago Bears 7

CHICAGO -- If, indeed, this was his last game, Brett Favre went out in style.
The rocket-like passes that defined his career were on full display, zooming between helpless defenders and into receivers' hands. And when it was over, his voice cracked. Tears flowed. Is this really it, though? "If this is the last game, I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome," Favre said after the Green Bay Packers closed out the season with a 26-7 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. Favre had his way, Rex Grossman looked lost, and the Bears bore little resemblance to a No. 1 playoff seed. Favre showed he still has some plenty left in that powerful right arm, passing for 285 yards to lead the Packers (8-8).
But he tearfully hinted that he's seriously considering retirement, as he did in the last offseason. "I couldn't ask for a better way to get out." Favre said he would discuss retirement with his family and make his announcement soon -- "probably within the next couple of weeks." For now, the only certainty is he's scheduled for ankle surgery Monday in Green Bay.

Wisconsin Badgers 17, Arkansas Razerbacks 14
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Darren McFadden broke free on his first carry and raced into the Wisconsin secondary. Defensive back Jack Ikegwuonu did what few players have -- he ran down the Arkansas star at the 9.With its running game stifled and its quarterback under constant pressure, the sixth-ranked Badgers did just enough to hold off No. 12 Arkansas 17-14 Monday. John Stocco threw two first-half touchdown passes, and Wisconsin (12-1) survived despite being held to minus-5 yards rushing.
The biggest play might have been Ikegwuonu's tackle. McFadden's 45-yard run gave the Razorbacks the ball inside the Wisconsin 10, but Arkansas (10-4) came away with no points when Jeremy Davis missed a 30-yard field goal.
Wisconsin won nine straight to finish the season and can now boast of a second straight Capital One Bowl win over the Southeastern Conference. The Badgers beat Auburn 24-10 last year. "We didn't need to beat this team to validate that we're a great team," Stocco said. Taylor Mehlhaff opened the scoring for the Badgers with a 52-yard field goal, a career long and a Capital One Bowl record. Felix Jones answered quickly for Arkansas with a 76-yard touchdown run.
Stocco threw touchdown passes of 22 yards to Paul Hubbard and 13 yards to Travis Beckum, giving the Badgers a 17-7 halftime lead. Jones, who quietly surpassed 1,000 yards this season alongside McFadden, made it 17-14 on a 12-yard run in the fourth.

AKRON, Ohio The contract has been approved, the picket lines and fire barrels taken down, but some hard feelings remain among Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company workers. They returning to work tomorrow after a three-month strike that at times got ugly. Dan Levin has worked at the Sun Prairie, Wisconsin plant for 12 years. He says quote -- there's going to be a division, like the China wall -- end quote.
Workers at 12 plants in ten states, including Wisconsin, ended their strike Friday by approving a three-year agreement covering 14-thousand employees. It includes plans to close a Texas tire factory and creates a one (b) billion health care fund for retirees.

Girl killed in snowmobile accident identified
HAZELHURST, Wis. A nine-year-old Minnesota girl killed after the snowmobile she was a passenger on fell through the ice has been identified.
The Oneida County sheriff's department says Olivia Clark -- of Rochester, Minnesota -- died Friday night after the incident on Lake Tomahawk.
Sheriff's officials says Clark was riding with an adult in a twin-track type snowmobile -- where the driver and passenger sit side by side -- when the snowmobile went down in about 50 feet of water. Clark was wearing a seat belt. The driver is not injured.

Two men narrowly escape fatal fall into icy watersSHAWANO, Wis. There was a close call for two men ice fishing in Shawano County last night.
In a news release, sheriff's Sergeant Ty Raddant says 24-year-old Mark Laubenstein, 35-year-old Eric Radke and three others were on Shawano Lake yesterday afternoon but decided to quit fishing at about seven last night. One of the men decided to keep fishing and stayed in the ice shack.
Raddant says as the two men and their two friends were leaving they noticed the bad ice conditions. So Laubenstein and Radke decided to go back and pick up the friend who stayed behind. But while returning, both of their snowmobile fell through the ice.
Radke was in the water for about five minutes but was able to pull himself onto the ice. A nearby fisherman helped Laubenstein, who was in the water for more than ten minutes.
Sheriff's officials say neither was injured and they were released after they warmed up.
